Dr. John Kurylo

For Dr. John C. Kurylo, being a physician is about much more than treating an injury. It is about caring for people during moments when they may be frightened, overwhelmed, or uncertain about what comes next—and helping them move forward with confidence.

Throughout his career, Dr. Kurylo has cared for patients facing everything from unexpected injuries to life-changing trauma. His experience includes serving on the orthopedic team that treated victims of the Boston Marathon bombing, an experience that reinforced the importance of remaining calm under pressure while never losing sight of the individual person behind every injury. That philosophy continues to guide the way he practices medicine today.

Dr. Kurylo believes patients deserve to be heard, respected, and actively involved in their care. He places a strong emphasis on communication, taking the time to explain what has happened, answer questions, discuss available options, and make sure patients understand what they can expect throughout their recovery. He believes informed patients are better able to approach their treatment and recovery with confidence.

His goal is not simply to treat an injury, but to help each patient regain function, independence, and the ability to return to the people, activities, work, and everyday moments that matter most to them. He understands that an orthopedic injury can affect far more than a bone or joint—it can disrupt nearly every part of a person's daily life.

Compassion and individualized care are at the heart of Dr. Kurylo's approach. No two patients—and no two recoveries—are exactly alike. He believes each treatment plan should reflect the needs, goals, and circumstances of the individual patient.

Dr. Kurylo is excited to join AVORS Medical Group and become part of the Antelope Valley community. He looks forward to building relationships with his patients and working alongside the AVORS team to provide exceptional care close to home.

For Dr. Kurylo, the greatest reward is helping patients regain their independence, move beyond an injury, and get back to living the lives they enjoy.
