Meet Dr. Sarah Gostich, DPM, FACFAS
Dr. Sarah Gostich is a board certified foot and ankle surgeon at AVORS Medical Group specializing in advanced foot and ankle care, trauma, reconstruction, sports medicine, complex fractures, deformity correction, limb salvage and total ankle replacement.
Her training includes Foot, Rearfoot and Ankle Reconstructive Surgery at Bethesda Hospital Baptist Health South Florida, and she earned her medical degree from Kent State University College of Podiatric Medicine.
Before becoming a foot and ankle surgeon, Dr. Gostich also served as a firefighter and paramedic.
That background gives her a unique perspective when caring for injured patients. She understands that behind every fracture, injury or painful joint is a person who wants to get back to their family, career, activities and normal life.
Her philosophy is not simply to treat an X ray or diagnosis. It is to understand the patient and determine the best path toward restoring function and mobility.

Total Ankle Replacement in the Antelope Valley
Dr. Sarah Gostich is the only provider performing total ankle replacement in the Antelope Valley, bringing an advanced surgical option to patients who previously may have needed to travel outside the community for this level of specialized care. Total ankle replacement, also called total ankle arthroplasty, is designed for appropriately selected patients suffering from severe ankle arthritis and other advanced ankle conditions.
When arthritis destroys the cartilage inside the ankle, everyday activities can become extremely painful. Walking through a grocery store, climbing stairs, working, exercising or simply standing for extended periods can become difficult. Historically, ankle fusion has been one of the primary surgical treatments for severe ankle arthritis. Fusion can provide pain relief, but it does so by permanently joining the bones of the ankle joint and eliminating motion at that joint. Total ankle replacement offers another option for appropriately selected patients. Instead of eliminating movement, damaged portions of the ankle joint are replaced with an implant designed to preserve motion while reducing pain and improving function. At AVORS Medical Group, Dr. Gostich performs advanced total ankle replacement using systems including the Stryker INBONE® and Infinity™ Total Ankle Systems.
