AVORS Medical Group CEO Joseph Hurley Wins Top 10 Admired Leaders in 2023 in Healthcare Industry

Beckers and Industry Era nomination is a publication that reviews annually top ranked CEO's and executive staff for excellence in California. Joseph Hurley, AVORS Medical Group CEO was nominated in the Healthcare segment for "Top 10 Admired Leaders of 2023" and won for the top spot for Healthcare. He was nominated by his CEO leadership peers and was the only one to have multiple physicians from outside of his company nominate him. He was evaluated for the top 10 based on an independent review of all candidates based on the feedback.

Who is Joseph Hurley?


Joseph Hurley is AVORS Medical Group's Chief Executive Officer starting in September of 2019. Joseph Hurley is also the Chief Executive for Embassy Surgery Centers (Antelope Valley's top Center of Excellence in Free Standing Ambulatory Surgery Center), Familyfirst Family Medical Practice (AV's Best Nominated practitioners in Family Practice and/or Pediatrics), Alpha Revenue Cycle Management billing services, and AVORS DME.  He is commonly given top marks by multiple employees and outside companies each year for his role as a Servant Leader. In 2023, he has partnered on multiple projects with Palmdale Regional Medical Center, Providence Holy Cross, and Antelope Valley Medical Center and this included his work with volunteer group Grace Resources. His handling of our companies during COVID-19 taught us a lot how he handles himself under stress. He has been known for his ability to self-sacrifice and personal integrity. His style of leadership is commonly viewed as a Servant Leader.

How was Joseph Hurley nominated?


This nomination comes from interactions Joseph has made in the State of California and for his tireless work during COVID-19 and other projects where he interacted with key leadership including Hospital CEO, COO, and Business Development. Keynotes for nomination include in 2020-2022, Joseph Hurley worked tirelessly to avoid a company shutdown and prioritized the needs of the clinic to avoid layoffs. He put much energy into personally leading the charge to offer the highest level of care to patients without impacting the quality of care. He worked hard to protect his staff from COVID-19. AVORS partnered with the City of Lancaster and Palmdale to be a COVID-19 testing site and not have a single lost test. The entire staff of AVORS, Embassy Surgery, and Familyfirst put themselves in the front lines to make sure patients were property diagnosed, treated, and not left alone. He worked hard to make sure that AVORS was able to help as a many patients as possible. He quotes that "I was given the best crew in my history who all share a passion for service. We have a slogan of "AVORS Strong" and each company provided we have the hardest working staff in the private practice". Joseph also has shown integrity and honesty towards employees, staff, and leadership in the State of California.  His work ethic shows us he cares for the patients, staff, and community. This does not just happen overnight but is a history of his work and personal ethics.
