AVORS Medical Group Hosts 2027 Back to School Community Drive
Providing Backpacks, Shoes, Hygiene Kits, and Food Donations to Support Local Families
LANCASTER, Calif. – July 25, 2027 – AVORS Medical Group proudly hosted its annual Back to School Community Drive on July 25, 2027, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., bringing together local healthcare providers, community partners, and generous donors to help children prepare for the upcoming school year.
The event was organized under the leadership of Yvette, AVORS Medical Group's Certified Orthotic Fitter and Durable Medical Equipment (DME) Department Leader, whose dedication helped make this community initiative a success.
Through the generosity of community donations and AVORS Medical Group, each qualifying child received:
• A new backpack
• A pair of new shoes
• A dental hygiene kit
• A personal hygiene kit
• A food donation package
"Our mission extends beyond caring for patients inside our clinics," said Joseph Hurley, CEO of AVORS Medical Group. "We believe healthy communities begin with supporting families where they need it most. Helping children start the school year with confidence is one small way we can make a lasting impact."
Community Healthcare Providers Giving Back
This annual outreach was made possible through the sponsorship of AVORS Medical Group and the support of its healthcare providers who remain committed to serving the Antelope Valley both inside and outside of the clinic.
Special provider recognition goes to Dr. Justin Sherfey and Dr. Thomas Nasser.
Dr. Justin Sherfey: Fellowship Trained Orthopedic Total Joint Reconstruction Specialist, whose commitment to restoring mobility is matched by his passion for strengthening the local community.
Dr. Thomas Nasser: Interventional Pain Management and Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation physician, whose dedication to improving patients' quality of life extends into meaningful community service initiatives.
Together, these providers continue to demonstrate that healthcare is about more than treating illness. It is about investing in the health, well-being, and future of the communities they serve.
