Dr. Zhang is Board Certified in Family Practice and Fellowship Trained in Sports Medicine. Dr. Zhang brings a unique blend of Board-Certified Family Practice and specialized training with Sports Injuries in his Sports Medicine Fellowship to help patients in the Antelope Valley. Family First Family Medical Practice is a full spectrum Family Practice seeing patients of all ages and offer a variety of preventative care services such as well child exams with developmental screening, adult annual wellness exams, routine preventative bloodwork, women's health testing, and referrals to more specialized screenings such as colonoscopies & mammograms. Family First Family Medical Practice is affiliated with AVORS Medical Group, the leading Musculoskeletal Orthopedic and Rehabilitation multispecialty group in the Antelope Valley. Dr. Peter Zhang received his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Biology from the University of California, Berkeley, and completed a master’s degree in Public Health from Columbia University, New York. He received his medical degree from the University of Maryland, finished a Family Medicine Residency at the University of California, Riverside in Palm Springs where he was Chief Resident and completed a Sports Medicine Fellowship at the University of Texas, Rio Grande Valley. During his education and training he also served as a clinical and professional research assistant at Columbia University, New York and the University of Texas. His passion for learning also helped Dr. Zhang earn the prestigious Intern Resident of the Year while at UCR in Palm Springs. He is Board Certified through the American Board of Family Medicine.
His professional affiliations include The American Medical Society of Sports Medicine (AMSSM), the American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP), and the Chinese American Medical Sociaty (CAMS). He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians and holds a Certificate of Added Qualification in Sports Medicine.
